Reserve A Book For Review

Last updated: April 21, 2026

Before purchasing a book on Amazon, you’ll want to follow the steps to reserve the book in your GBR account. This removes it from the library and holds the tokens specifically for your review.

Books must be checked out or reserved to earn the tokens for the review. If a book is not checked out in GBR and you order the book on Amazon, there is no guarantee the listing will still be there when you’re ready to leave your review.

1. To find a book in the GBR library, head to the “Review Library” page.

  • You can use category and tag filters to narrow the search to your preferred topics.
  • Toggle the “Order Results By” to sort.
  • Check the boxes with your preferred reading methods to filter these preferences.
  • The library automatically filters by where you review from and your preferred reading language
  • The library automatically filters our any of the “Excluded Categories” you have set in your personal preferences.

2. Once you’ve found a book, you can learn more or go to the book’s page to start your review.

  • Click “View on Amazon” to see the book there, but do not buy the book unless you’ve first checked the book out for review on our website.
  • Click “Book Details” to learn more about the book.
  • Click “Review Book” to start your review for this book.
  • Click the “Bookmark Icon” to save this book to your “Read it Later” list.

3. Select the method you wish to review, then click “START REVIEW”. This takes the book out of the library and holds it in the “Books I’m Reviewing” tab for you. It’s very important to ensure you start your review before you purchase or begin reading a book.
