What happens if a review I wrote is removed by Amazon?
We truly appreciate the time and effort you invest in reading and reviewing books for our community. We understand how frustrating and discouraging it can be to see a review get removed, especially when you submitted it in good faith and followed all the guidelines.
Unfortunately, Amazon’s review moderation has become increasingly automated, and they frequently remove legitimate reviews with little to no transparency. Because our community system depends on reviews remaining live on Amazon to function properly, our system automatically reverses tokens when a review is taken down.
However, we do want to acknowledge your hard work. As a courtesy, we will credit the base tokens for the review back to your account balance so that your time spent reading is not entirely uncompensated. Please note that any bonus tokens cannot be restored since the review is no longer active on Amazon. Also, if your reviews are repeatedly removed from Amazon, we will not be able to offer you the base tokens. The maximum number of times we can offer you base tokens for a review that got removed from Amazon is four. We genuinely value your participation and hope this courtesy credit helps reassure you of our support.
What should I do if a review for my book was removed by Amazon?
It is incredibly disappointing to lose a review for your book, and we completely understand how discouraging this is for an author. Amazon’s automated systems sometimes flag and remove high-quality, legitimate reviews without providing any clear explanation to authors or readers.
If you notice that a review you received through our network has been removed from Amazon, please reach out to our support team and provide us with the specific review ID which can be found on your My Book Reviews page. Once we have that information, we will gladly refund the full amount of tokens you used to list that book (minus any surplus tokens that have already been returned). This will allow you to republish your book in the library right away so you can find a replacement reviewer and continue building your book’s momentum.
